Good & Evil
This book has to do a lot with the works of good and evil. The good family's are the Starks and then you have the bad family the lannisters. The Starks rule the north and are second to the kings. The lannisters rule the west and want to be the kings hand. So they are treacherous and will do anything to get there

Stick with this series! I had to constantly go back to the list of families in the back of the book, as well as the map. But it really is a great series. The interesting idea for me is the idea of power in the book. Everything comes down to who has power, who wants power, and what will they do to get that power? And you never really know how some little tidbit or piece of information can make someone gain or lose power!
